FAQ

How does the free trial work?

Sign up and you've got 30 days of full access, no card required upfront. After that, it's $6.98/year if you want to keep going. That's it. No surprise charges, no auto-upgrade to some premium tier you never asked for.

What is Founding Member status and how do I get it?

The first 100 people to sign up get lifetime access, completely free, forever. No catch, no "first year only." If you got in early, you're already covered. Once we hit 100, this offer's gone for good.

Why do I need to verify my age? How does it work?

Because this is a real community with real people, and we take that seriously. Like a real venue, we're not letting kids in. Verification happens through Stripe Identity, a quick check with a photo ID, handled securely by Stripe, not by us. We never see or store your actual ID. If we can't confirm you're 18+, you don't get in. No exceptions, no "just this once."

What happens if I get reported or banned?

If someone reports you and we find it's warranted, you're banned, permanently, no warnings, no appeals process. We built this to be a safe space, and that means we take reports seriously. Don't be the reason someone else has a bad time here.

How much does it cost after the trial?

$6.98 a year. One price, no tiers, no "unlock more matches" nonsense, no paying extra to see who liked you. That's genuinely it.

Can I get a refund?

Reach out to us directly if something went wrong with a payment and we'll handle it case by case. We're not going to nickel and dime you, but we're also one person running this, so please be patient.

How do I delete my account?

You can do this from your Account settings. If you can't find it or run into an issue, contact us directly and we'll take care of it.

Is my data safe?

We take this seriously, real security practices, not an afterthought. We don't sell your data, and we don't hand it to advertisers, because we don't have advertisers. If you're curious about the specifics, feel free to reach out.

How do I report someone or something?

Every profile, post, and message has a report option. Use it if something's genuinely wrong: harassment, fake profiles, inappropriate content, whatever. We actually read these and act on them.

I'm not looking for dates, can I still use this?

Absolutely. Set "Looking for" to Friendship or Bandmates (or both) right in your profile, and it'll show at the top of your chats so there's never any confusion about what you're here for. Plenty of people use Nocturne purely to find bandmates, show buddies, or just to be part of the community. Dating is one piece of this, not the whole thing.

I'm in a band, how can I use Nocturne?

Post your shows and updates on Backstage, our community board. Looking for a bassist, a drummer, someone who can actually scream on key? Post it there. Want people to know about your next gig? Same place. Nocturne is built to help bands connect directly with the people who'd actually show up for them, not buried under algorithm-fed content from accounts you don't care about.
